Smoky quartz is your ground and your boundary. It's clear quartz that has been through something, lying beside natural radiation long enough to change colour, and it did not break. It darkened and kept every part of its structure, which is the only reason to keep it in a house where a woman has been told her depth is a problem.

It takes the heaviness a room collects, the residue of other people's moods and demands, and holds it rather than passing it to you. What's left is a space that feels like yours the moment you walk into it. The flinching stops. You take up the room you were already standing in.
